Salah Rings has no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no server that stores what you log.
Everything you record — your prayers, your reading, your dhikr — is written to your own phone and stays there. We do not receive it and cannot read it.
All of the following is stored only in the app's local storage on your phone:
Uninstalling the app deletes all of it. There is no copy anywhere else, so there is nothing for us to export, sell, or hand over.
If you allow it, the app reads your device location to calculate prayer times for where you are. The coordinates are saved on your phone and used for that calculation.
They leave your device in exactly one case: when you tap Find masjids near me, your coordinates are sent to the OpenStreetMap Overpass API so it can return mosques in that area. That is the only user data the app ever transmits.
You can decline the permission entirely. The app still works — set your location by picking a masjid, or leave the default.
The app is built to work offline. It makes network requests in these cases, and no others:
| Service | When | What is sent |
|---|---|---|
| OpenStreetMap | You tap “Find masjids near me” | Your coordinates |
| jsDelivr CDN | Reading in Mushaf mode | A font filename. No user data |
| Expo Updates | App launch | A version number, to check for updates. No user data |
| islamqa.info | You open an answer from Ask | Nothing — the link opens in your browser |
The Ask search itself runs entirely on your phone: the questions are bundled inside the app, and typing a search sends nothing anywhere.
If you turn on prayer reminders, they are scheduled on your device by the app itself. No notification is sent from a server, and nothing about them leaves your phone.
The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Because nothing is collected, there is no account to close and no data request to make. To remove everything the app holds, uninstall it. You can revoke the location permission at any time in Android’s settings without losing anything else.
If the app ever starts handling data differently, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the date at the top will change.
